Working in close collaboration with a number of Blackbaud CRM customers, Zuri Group has created our own SSO solution for Blackbaud CRM using variety of different SAML Identity Providers. Our solution maintains a very small foot-print within the Blackbaud solution, and does not require changing any of the Blackbaud CRM code.
SSO (single sign-on) is an authentication process that allows a user to access multiple applications with one set of login credentials.
In addition to an enhanced user experience, SSO also offers an increased layer of security. It can also provide a savings in time and resources for IT administrators.

SAML – In the SAML ‘standard’ there are two entities:
IDP (Identity Provider): The IDP handles the authentication. This is also where a second factor of authentications; such as DUO, gets plugged-in. DUO or other similar solutions will push a 6-digit code or notification to your smartphone to validate you are who you say you are.
Examples of IDPs: Shibboleth, OneLogin, Centrify, Active Directory Federated Services and CAS
SP (Service Provider): After successfully being authenticated, the IDP sends a message to the SP containing the user information and logs the user into the chosen application.
Examples of SPs: Blackbaud CRM, BBIS
